Day Two of the Dem convention

All eyes and ears will be on Hillary Cinton tonight as she addresses the party faithful in Denvernver. She have a tough act to follow in that Ted Kennedy and Michelle Obama certainly held their own on Monday's opening night. But then again, Clinton will come to the stage with her supporters already seated and anxious to show the country just how popular she is.

But...the big surprise tonight might be the keynote speaker, former VA Gov. and U.S. Senate candidate Mark Warner. Not a lot of folks know a lot about him. But two years ago I spent a few days in New Hampshire with him when he was seriously considering a presidential run of his own. He has quite the story to tell....and he might steal the show tonight.

I am still waiting for one of you Obama supporters to explain something to me. If Michelle Obama did not mean that she was not proud of her country until the moment she thought she was being crowned First Lady, than what did she mean?

If she was taken out of context, than what was she trying to say instead?

I am still waiting on an answer to that one.

Ray - Unfortunately, I was not impressed by the Warner speech. Fortunately, Hillary was 'spot on' with hers.
To address Mr. McCommas - Michelle Obama missed a few adverbs in the 'infamous' "Never been proud of her country until now" comment. She did not really mean that she had never been proud of her country until then. In the context of her speech she was praising her husband's candidacy and the response of Democratic voters to it. Rather than discuss candidate and candidate spouses 'mistatements' lets concentrate of the real policy differences between the Rs and the Ds. The Roveian tactics have been and are dispicible. Hillary had it correct last night when she said "No How, No Way, No McCain."

But the thing of it is, Mrs. Obama had the opportunity to say "No No No, I misspoke”. I would have bought it but she blew it. It would have been so easy even if she wasn’t sincere but she blew it. Mrs. Obama did some sort of "clarification" press conference but she was arrogantly incomprehensible. She must think we are all stupid. She certainly never apologized and never said she was proud of her country prior to her husband thrashing what would have been the first female president of the United States. The inescapable conclusion is that is was a Freudian slip. She said what she said and she meant it.

Michelle Obama is not running for President. Point taken; but her lack of gratitude for the country that has provide her and her family an embarrassment of opportunities and blessings is telling of both her and her partner. Also significant is what church the Obamas chose to attend. What kind of parent brings his little girls to listen to the hate of Jeremiah Wright?

Obama is a master at hiding who he really is. His wife and pastor, less so.

Can Mr. Obama’s views be so different from his wife and pastor?
