And this just in....

The Simmons for Senate campaign has hired former John McCain New Hamsphire state campaign director Jim Barrett to be campaign manager. Barrett is credited with resuscitating McCain's presidential bid at a time when it appeared the Arizona Senator was down for the count. McCain won the New Hampshire primary, and ultimately the GOP nomination.

Pennsylvania Senate Primary: Toomey 51% Specter 30%

Incumbent Senator Arlen Specter trails former Congressman Pat Toomey by 21 points in a n early look at Pennsylvania?s 2010 Republican Primary. Fifty-one percent (51%) of Republican voters statewide say they'd vote for Toomey while just 30% would support Specter.

Strange days indeed. Specter has become the Republican version of Joe Lieberman.
