It didn't take long.....

Any doubts that a possible Simmons/Dodd match up wouldn't be hard hitting have been dashed already.

Yesterday, somebody registered a Web site www.RobSimmons2010.com.

The problem is, if you go to it, you get a page from U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney's old campaign site (from 2006) with a press release about "tainted" campaign contributions Simmons had received from members of Congress (Republican of course) who were having a bit of trouble with the law -- like facing jail time.

The Web page was created by someone under the name Godaddy.com,. and put up through Domains by Proxy based in Scottsdale, AZ.

And we still have a good 19 months to go before this is over....

Godaddy is a domain registrar -- there are only a couple dozen out there, so that's not really news. Whoever did the registration elected to make the registration anonymous, which is maybe news.

Maybe you could report that alongside the fact that dumpdodd.com was registered anonymously in exactly the same way.

Yeah...being a bit slow on the uptake, I only now just learned that godaddy.com is a domain registry. Thanks for the heads up...

As for dumpdodd.com, I wrote about that in my Sunday column in the paper about three (maybe four weeks ago) and mentioned that its founders are anonymous.

I missed it, do you have a link?

Dump Dodd is actually Chris Ford, executive director of the Connecticut Young Republicans and Simmons supporter -- FEC report here.

Mr. Ray Hackett said about RobSimmons2010.com “The problem is, if you go to it, you get a page from U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney's old campaign site”

-- Well what do you expect from a lawyer? They know all these tricks.

Someone should tell Mr. Courtney however to change that photo. He looks really sweaty and guilty of something.

Chris J Ford is the Executive Director of CT Young Republicans. The FEC form lists Chris A Ford. I realize it is a technicality to assume people with different names are actually different people.

Does anyone actually think Dodd deserves there vote? Let's see he left for Iowa. He is Chairman of the banking commission and we have a MAJOR credit issue. He was one of the Senators that signed off on the Stimulus package and are now whining about AIG and bonuses. now he wants to create more legislation. Let's see create legislation that needs legislation that need legislation to make it right is job security! first time quality - Second time overtime! Are thes guys union workers or what!!!

Hi-

Chris Ford here of the CT Young Republicans.

NO I am not the Chris Ford of Dumpdodd.com

I am a college student from Naugatuck, intern at the CT Republicans, and Exec. Dir. of CTYRs.

I have no affiliation with Dump Dodd whatsoever.
