2nd District race...

I'd like to bring to your attention our efforts to inform voters about the 2nd Congressional District race. this morning we launched (www.norwichbulletin.com) our special election Web page featuring that race, which includes video clips of U.S. Rep. Rob Simmons, R-2nd District, and Democratic challenger Joe Courtney during their meetings with the Norwich Bulletin Editorial Board. The video clips allow you to compare, side-by-side, the two candidates as they discuss their campaigns and the issues - in their own words. We've added the links to their respective campaign Web pages so that you can also visit and learn more of the details of where they stand on issues.

We did a similar effort during the primary featuring the gubernatorial and US Senate candidates, and will be repeating that with the general election slate soon. We're just waiting for the candidates to come in for the Ed Board meetings. Hopefully those pages will be up and available next month.

I'd be interested in hearing what you think about the 2nd District page.

Trueblue...thanks for the background information...but, as you say, most hanging out online are a bit nutty maybe a kinder way of describing Pat would be to suggest she is overly passionate in her beliefs and easily prone to responding in a rather determined manner that can be as caustic as other equally passionate observers.

I would hope that it wouldn't be necessary to ban anyone from expressing a view here - and would hope views can be exchanged in a meaningful manner. And I would certainly that no one individual would result in others leaving. But I do appreciate the heads up.

But back to the original question of this post...what do you think of the 2nd District Web page on www.norwichbulletin.com

snorwich...to answer your question...U.S. Sen. Joseph Lieberman is the incumbent senator and still a Democrat. As a result, the proper title for him in news stories is U.S. Sen. Joseph Lieberman, D-Conn. I frequently mention that he is seeking re-election as a petitioning candidate or running an independent bid for re-election, noting that he lost the Democratic primary - and nomination - to Ned Lamont, the Democratic nominee. That seems pretty clear to me, and I suspect pretty clear to anyone else. I doubt seriously there are many people who are not familiar with the goings-on in that race.

snorwich...a question for you. Do you think that there may actually come a time where you might be satisfied with an answer to your question?
