And I thought they didn't like the name...

During the 2006 U.S. Senate election between Joe Lieberman and Ned Lamont I wrote a column in the Norwich Bulletin criticizing the "progressive" Democratic bloggers and their attacks on anyone who didn't agree with exactly what they wanted people to agree with. In my criticism, I referred to them and what they were doing as "vigilante journalism" - a phrase that quite a few of them took offense at.

But apparently not as much as an offense when it comes to making a buck. The owners of Connecticut Local Politics, a blog page that I do read often, is trying to raise some money to enhance their operation by selling various items, including these new items - a t-shirt and tote bag with the name "vigilante journalist."

I'm flattered...and they do give credit to me on the page as the one who coined the phrase

But I might add, just for the record, my column in the newspaper is copywrited - and maybe they needed my permission before using it.

Who are you to scare-quote "progressive", you who wrote this mere hours ago:

But ordinary folks, the only good news is that they're just about done - which means they [the government] can do us no more harm for another six months.

In the future, if you want to sarcastically undermine the progressive credentials of people you don't know, maybe you should leave the radical anti-government rhetoric at home before you head into work for the day.

Um, I just might add, and for the record, that there's this neato new innovation called "fair use" that's part of this really cool concept called "copyright law." Some "progressives" and "bloggers" are familiar with it. Would be great if some "journalists" were, too. But then again they might need to know something about "journalism" as well.

Oh No you don't!

Lieberman is a liberal.

L-I-B-E-R-A-L

(Nice try).

He is an abortion cheerleader tax and spender.

Lets not forget that Mr. Hackett.

He is just as progressive as the other senator from Connecticut. He is just on America's side in the War on Terror.

That’s the only thing that makes him different.

And to the two gentlemen above, can't you take a joke?

Or was Mr. Hackett being to subtle for you?
