May already....

How time flies when you're having a good time.

It appears little movement has been made thus far in Hartford as lawmakers and the governor's office get down to the serious business of negotiating a budget for the new fiscal year. That isn't too surprising since there is still a full month to come to a deal - and most likely, it will take pretty much all of that time to complete.

Elsewhere...it appears Fred Thompson, the actor from Law & Order, former U.S. Senator and soon-to-be Republican presidential candidate, will be visiting Connecticut in May. He'll be the featured guest at the annual Prescott Bush Sr. Awards Dinner on Thursday, May 24th at the Stamford Sheraton.

Dinner tickets are $250 for general admission, $500 for private reception and $1,000 for photo and private reception. For tickets, call (860)-296-9900 or visit the state Republican website – www.ctgop.org.

What else is going on?

Ray,

Next time you talk with Congressman Courtney please ask him about this: http://majorityap.com/?q=node/18

Does he think it is ok to accept money from this group?

Whoops! I guess Bruce better read Ted Mann's blog at the New London Day...one little problem with his line of attack is that "The Republican Courtney defeated, former Rep. Rob Simmons, received $5,000 in campaign contributions from the same group in 2004, when he rebuffed challenger Jim Sullivan."
